Discount Electrical was first formed in 1978 by Frank O’Mahoney in Blackpool United Kingdom. Back then it was a small local electrical wholesaler under the name Discount Electrical and Lighting Centre. The shop was originally located on Lytham Road Blackpool UK.

Discount Electrical and Lighting Centre was founded with a vision of providing experience outstanding customer service and great value. This is something Discount Electrical lived up to when compared to the other electrical wholesalers or electrical discount centres. This mission is retained by Discount Electrical to this day.

Fast forward 42 years and Frank’s Son, Ged, has turned the same mission into a national online electrical wholesale business. Discountelectrical.com aims to provide the same level of outstanding customer service and value as the original Discount Electrical. As an electrical wholesaler to both the trade and public.

Ged is a fully qualified Electrician with many years onsite experience. Ged’s experience allows Discount Electrical to offer the electrical know-how in the shopping experience. This includes through product reviews, electrical industry tips and in the wide range of products available on discountelectrical.com.
